Do you have a family recipe that uses some of the great commodities grown in Idaho? If so, Idaho Preferred would like to hear from you.

The organization is taking submissions in their first ever digital recipe contest, now through the end of the month. Erica White said the timing of the contest not only highlights Idaho Preferred month, but harvest taking place statewide.

“Let us know what your favorite recipes are and utilize at least one specialty crop item.  So, that can be anything from honey to wine to what’s grown in your own backyard, and submit your recipes, because there are some great prizes and an opportunity to be a part of the local movement.”

White said some of the top prizes that will be handed out include a black stoned griddle from Wal-Mart, as well as a winery experience from Caldwell-based Ste. Chappelle and Sawtooth Winery. She noted once the recipes are collected an e-cookbook will be made available as well.
