What does this year's cranberry production look like nationwide and in major cranberry production states? According to USDA numbers, cranberry consumption has grown in recent years, from holiday time only, to year round. When it comes to the size of this year's cranberry crop.

"Not much change in 2021 compared to last year."

USDA Economic Researcher Jaclyn Kramer said, in fact, 2021 cranberry production was up less than 1% from the year prior. As for the largest producers by state.

"The largest producing state are Wisconsin and Massachusetts.  Their production is expected to increase 1 and 2%, respectively."

Kramer added that the cranberry marketing committee is expecting a lower level of production compared to 2020.  Also expected in 2021 by the committee, an increase in prices received by cranberry growers due to a combination of lower production and lower beginning stalks.
