Back in October, Washington Governor Jay Inslee announced he and Senator Patty Murray were exploring options to breaching the lower Snake River dams. Eastern Washington Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers said it’s vital for the Pacific Northwest farming community that these four dams remain.

“They are so important to our region.  And we are working every day to help educate people to the improved salmon runs, and the important role that these dams play in providing a clean source of electricity, barging flood control.  And as everyone knows, those dams have a target on them right now.”

Inslee added at the time that he and Murray are also looking at how to replace lost services if the Lower Snake River dams are breached.
