Washington State Department of Agriculture is offering a new bilingual program as an avenue for specialty crop farmers to receive one-on-one business consultation. Education coordinator, Karen Ullmann, said “Profiting From Your Pivot” is for small and direct marketing farms to help them adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Staff recognized the need to adapt and shift their business model in response to disruptions to the supply chain or purchasing and buying options.”

Ullmann added participants will walk away with free business coaching, direct professional services and Good Agricultural Practices audit support.

"Good agricultural practices are standard for safe, growing and handling of produce on the farm and it's an important concept for farmers from safe food handling perspective, liability perspective and for farms looking to sell into certain markets.”

The application deadline is December 15th. Visit the WSDA's Website to learn more or to apply.
