DMC Sign Up Starts Monday
Signup begins Monday for USDA's Dairy Margin Coverage Safety Net Program. Farm Service Agency Administrator Zach Ducheneaux notes, there will be a supplemental DMC enrollment, as well for 2022.
"Supplemental DMC is going to provide up to $580 million to assist small and mid-sized dairy operations that have increased production over the years, but haven't been able to enroll that additional production. Sort of like making adjustments to your base acres."
Further farm safety net programs, the administrator adds, there is retroactive enrollment for supplemental DMC for 2021. With producers retroactively enrolling required to revise their 2021 DMC contract prior to signing up for Dairy Margin Coverage for 2022. The signup periods for DMC and supplemental DMC are the same.
"You'll find the period begins on December 13th and runs through February 15th.
