Walla Walla Valley Wine is highlighting April as Walla Walla Valley Wine Month. Communications & Marketing Director, Liz Knapke, said this is the third annual Walla Walla Valley Wine Month after its inception in 2020.

"Now as we climb out of the challenges of the past two years, we're really excited to welcome people to the Valley in a different way. We're excited to talk about April as a destination time for the Walla Walla Valley.”

The first Walla Walla Valley Wine month was at the height of the pandemic and organizers shifted the focus from visiting to learning about the history about the AVA and online ordering. Knapke said everyone is on watch for bud bursts, which is the buds that signal the vines are growing into their next vintage.

"Tasting rooms are pouring the newly released roses which is exciting because it’s the first taste of the last vintage, the 2021 vintage.”

Walla Walla Valley Wine hosted a kickoff event the first weekend of April.
