How Will Renewable Energy Be Part Of 2022 Farm Bill

A hindsight look at how renewable energy programs of projects from the 2018 Farm Bill have provided rural producers and stakeholders opportunities in the now and the future.

"When communities lean in to clean energy, as so many are already doing and have been doing for years, the resulting economic prosperity is clear.  Jobs are created, consumers save on their energy bills and new markets are formed."

Agriculture Under Secretary for Rural Development Xochitl Torres Small at a House Agricultural Committee hearing renewable energy offerings and how their successes and lessons can be applied to a new Farm Bill. She noted popularity of programs such as the Rural Energy for America Program.

"It's over subscribed and when you look at grants, it was about $40.5-million in grants that were allocated and then another $30million in the wings waiting to be funded."
