The Biden administration official charged with coordinating the implementation of the massive bipartisan infrastructure bill, Mitch Landriue, said besides proving roads, bridges and rural electric grids and such, that bill has resources for another major goal:

"Providing high speed internet to every home, every business so that rural community specifically can stay connected to jobs, precision agriculture, tele-medicine and distance learning," Landriue noted.

And he added connectivity needs to be affordable as well.

"The goal isn't just to have internet," Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack noted. "The goal is to have high speed internet and the beauty of this is that we now have sufficient resources for the first time ever to really address this in a very significant way."
