A bill that would streamline how wines are sold or sampled at charitable auctions and other events has passed out of a Washington State House committee.

The bill, which was sponsored by Senator Sharon Brown and has already passed the Senate, would replace the current method which requires the State Liquor and Cannabis Board to gather permits from every vendor, by allowing a single permit to be issued to the event which names each vendor.

The bill is supported by the Washington Wine Institute.

The committee voted 48-1 to pass the bill and now moves to the floor.
