While it has not replaced the horse for many farmers, it’s has become nearly as valuable. Side-by-sides have become a staple on many Northwest farms, both small and large, for hauling products, remote property access, or just ease of transportation. Rich Ansell with Mahindra North America says they have created a new category in the side-by-side segment with the roll out of the Roxor.

“It’s got a boxed steel frame, a steel body, a Mahindra 2.5L turbo diesel engine, so it’s a real work horse, it’s a real heavy duty vehicle as compared to traditional side-by-sides, which are plastic bodied and they’ve got CTV driven belt transmissions, they’re not really designed for heavy duty everyday work….durability, capability, the heavy duty nature of it, that’s what people love about the vehicle.”

Ansell noted the diesel engine allows users to tow up to 3,490 pounds, roughly double of a typical side-by-side. And he added Roxor is incredibly easy to work on.

“Our owners, what they’ll say is ‘its so simple I can wrench on it’.  They can do most of the repairs in their garage and that’s part of the charm of owning the vehicle.  Side-by-sides are not designed for easy serviceability so more times than not they’ve got to go back to the dealer, which means you’re without a key tool for however long that takes.  Sometimes that can be a week or two.  And so, most times if there is something that needs to be tinkered with our owners can do it themselves and that’s, like I said, one of the things they love about the vehicle.”
