The USDA has wrapped up their trade mission to China and Hong Kong that included extensive dialogue on women in agriculture.   USDA Under Secretary Alexis Taylor said both the U.S. and China have similar issues and goals.   “One big part of it is who are our next generation of leaders and how are we mentoring them to ensure that we have women making decisions and really being those policy makers.”

The USDA is partnering with the Washington State Department of Agriculture and six other state departments of ag and 23 agribusiness on a trip to expand the women in ag initiative in China.   The trip starts Wednesday, September 7th and runs through the 15th with stops in Hong Kong and Shanghai.  ...
