On Wednesday, the Washington State Department of Agriculture will host the Washington Alcoholic Beverage Export Summit in Bothell.  The one-on-one consultation meetings will focus improving access for Washington’s growing beverage industry in SE Asia, China and Japan.

"And really, we’re hoping that our participants will be able to gain valuable information and insights to help companies develop an export strategies and to grow their business,” said WSDA International Marketing Program Manager Joe Bippert.

Bippert added Washington beverages, from wine to cider to beer have enjoyed remarkable growth in a relatively short amount of time, and he believes that can continue.

“Washington is uniquely positioned just given our proximity to Asia, with our deep water ports being a day closer than any other west coast port, it really positions us to find success in Asia.”

Bippert adds there’s also room to grow in European markets.
