Washington State University has just launched their newly redesigned and consolidated website for animal agriculture that covers the whole state.

Extension Professor Sarah Smith said they originally had several different websites based on animal or location.

“We tried to get all the animal ag related to food animals, including horses, in one site so that it’s a one stop. It will link back to our WSU publications site so those publications that are on our WSU Extension publication site are now easy to find.”

The site also lists the WSU Extension personnel who can help producers by answering questions and offering tips.

Smith said they also want to help younger producers who might be in FFA or 4H and looking to show their animals.

“It is proven scientific information. Sometimes when I go out there and search the web for information, and it’s probably more concerning for me in these youth topics, I think there’s some information out there that is not only not completely accurate but is also not really representative of how we want to raise animals in our livestock industries.”

Smith also said they welcome feedback on the site from producers and you can reach out through the website AnimalAg.wsu.edu.
